in which my obsessive knitting is productive.

IT'S MY FIRST NON-SCARF THAT ISN'T A POTHOLDER!

So I knitted something cool, showed it to [livejournal.com profile] narrativeliving  and had the following conversation:

Her: And gloves do well on etsy, I've seen

Me: Well, they do well year-round, I should think.
Scarves are mostly a winter thing.
unless they're fandom-related.
like Harry Potter or whatever.

Her: True, unless they're fa- YOURE IN MY MIND

Me: XDDDDD
I KNOW RIGHT
I DO THAT
PARTLY PSYCHIC, YOU KNOW

Her: I feel like I just got Inception'd
~~~~~
HERE'S THE AWESOME THING YOU GUYS.
Took me four hours to make and now I have to make another. It's just that I'm using knitting needles that could probably fit inside a pencil and they hurt. And you know that cool pattern on the glove? Yeah. That thing is a pain in the ass to do but looks so nice.
And now I'm going to bed because I'm super tired 'cause I didn't take a nap earlier 'cause I made this instead. /END
What a very cute pattern! I like the color, too. Well worth the pain - which I get, because with very tiny /or long needles, I get it, too. I've been getting bamboo needles, and for some reason that's helped (IDK, maybe I just grip them looser?) bit skinny needles are skinny needles. Regardless, they were worth the effort- they're lovely!
ps: was this your attempt with dbl ptd needles that you mentioned (I'm still too scared to try them)?
Noooo.
Actually, the cool thing? You knit these flat and seam them up the side and leave a hole for the thumb. I had to do some loose fitting and pinning to know where to stop, but with the mattress seam you can't see the seam itself, practically. If you want, I can take a pic of where the seam is so you can see.
