As part of my desire to start writing again, here’s a small entry I thought up in the last ten minutes. Enjoy (or laugh at) my first entry to LJ in like....a year.

One. Yesterday was the 14th anniversary of the off-Broadway premiere of RENT. Yesterday, I was studying madly for my Government exam. So today, when I got home, I played my Final Performance DVD on the big downstairs TV and sang along nicely to everything and didn’t care what anyone in my family thought. It’s been a very long time since I did that. And I needed to do that, because the lyrics to half the songs just resonate with me and watching it gave me energy that’ll help me get through the rest of this long week. I wish I could put the emotions I get from them into coherent thoughts to translate into words.

Two. I realized how much of a shallow, bandwagon-jumping copycat my sister is. She’ll get into the latest popular thing (see: Harry Potter, Twilight) but not care enough to finish reading the series (or at all, in the case of the former). And when I seriously join a fandom (hi there, Whedonverse and musicals), she’ll act like she doesn’t care, then immediately jump on the computer and start finding pictures and wallpapers and quoting it on Facebook and Twitter (oh look, another fad). But she never sticks with any of it, and if I don’t even bring it up for a week she’ll have gone on to something else. And I don’t think I care anymore. C’est la vie and she can pretend all she likes.

Three. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is one of the crackiest things I have ever read. It’s either published!fanfiction gone wrong, or an experiment involving a Jane Austen book and a bad writer with a serious zombie addiction. I could feel my eyes burning as I tried to get past the first page.

Four. [livejournal.com profile] harbek  linked me to a picture of Whiskey’s medical file (from Dollhouse), and partially through boredom as well as a challenge, I transcribed most of it to see if there was anything worth learning. The left half of the file is sciencey protein and element names, and the right half is random dental-related jargon that has nothing to do with anything. The only things that might be of interest are that Whiskey is apparently allergic to eggs and cow milk, and her medical record number is 13935117.

Five. I'm working on awesome nail designs to make with fingernail polish. Still in the ideas stage (which started last week), but more to come later. The tricky part is making them small and not a blobby mess, and then actually putting them on my nails.
