I didn't make it to my ridiculous goal of 500 new episodes of television in 2011, but I darn near got close with an official count of 410. (It would probably be more like 425 due to numerous Colbert Report episodes I never counted but hey.)

My computer cord finally died on me so I had to wait like 10 days for the replacement to be mailed to me. SO SLOW GAH. And it finally arrived this afternoon. x___x


What have I been doing in the meantime?

1. Finished my finals for first semester - and for the record, I got 2 Bs and 3 As. I'm freaking excited! My parents don't even know since I first saw my grades yesterday at like 11pm at a party.

2. Made tons and tons of things, kinda. Here's a TARDIS and lots and lots of Pokemon: Pikachu, Shuckle, Mew, Charmander, Squirtle, Clefable, Ponyta, Lugia, Articuno, and all four original Pokeballs. With plans of waaaay more on the way, it's just what I've done according to the colors I have, and when I had them. Lots of blues and reds and yellows, not so much greens or pinks. Hence lack of Bulbasaur. (Which is now a total of 71 different ones, so I could probably make Six's coat if I didn't mind the eystrain.)

3. Set up my Etsy store again. Only has three items right now, but this is my fave one and apparently the internets agrees. It's so lovely and I had fun putting it together and experimenting.

4. Dyed my hair red today. It was brown with reddish tint to it (not in that pic much) but it grew out like whoa, so now I'm more of a red/auburn!
Spent like four hours today doing it (and by that I mean my little eleven year old sister put gloves on and did the whole process herself which was about three hours worth of work - she did it last time too and it was fantastic, and this time she cut my split ends off for me and it looks nice)

5. Watched movies + caught up on House, Ringer, and much more QI. So for movies, I've seen Winter's Bone, which was brilliant and made me way more excited for Jennifer Lawrence in Hunger Games, and Gattaca which is now my #1 fave hardcore science fiction movie ever. I didn't expect to cry at the end so all of a sudden tears was whoa. And then I watched the extras on the DVD and the 'epilogue' that they cut out at the last second just took my breath away and sent chills down my spine at the end. I need a version where it's left in. Omg. Could probably write a whole post on how fantastic Gattaca was in every sense. It's from 1997 and I swear it was written for 2010, it's so, so relevant and I'd love to see it be in curriculum for genetics classes if it's not already.

6. Went to the most amazing Christmas party that a friend hosted. I was with old and new friends for 12 straight hours and made so many more inside jokes and moments that we'll never forget. Had tons of homemade foods and desserts, watched Muppets Christmas Carol, played a rather action-packed game of Spoons (it isn't fun until someone gets hurt) and lots of just wonderful socializing. Met my evil twin who is crazy awesome. She's an English major, we spoke with British accents for an hour or two. she looks very much like me down to the hair and glasses, ships the same alt!ships for Harry Potter fandom, and even recognized my cross-stitched TARDIS which surprised me. :D

7. Finally achieved my goal of getting one million NP on Neopets. Yeah, you heard me right. The games are addicting and free, and I have friends who've stayed on as long as I have (seven years now) so it's nice to reconnect. Totally used other computers to do it of course, for maybe an hour or two a day, but it's nice and relaxing and I've always wanted a million points in their game currency and now I have it. \o/

8. I also saw a very dear friend of mine in a great production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, and had about five other mutual friends come too. He was the most hilarious Malvolio ever and I had to keep covering my mouth because I couldn't keep a straight face. Every time I turned around to hide my laughter, at least one of my friends had tears running down her face or had their heads hidden. It was great. :D

College: My math teacher today singled me out as the only person in the class to get a particular question on the exam right that he'd pointed out during review time. He accidentally left part of a different question out so everyone got points back for that question, and if anyone was able to still solve it, he gave them bonus points. He also said that nobody got a 90 or higher on their original grade - but when my points were added b/c of that question, I got a 94. :D
I also have a B+ on my last Biology exam thanks to extra credit, which is my highest/next-highest exam grade so far. Freaking hard class. >_<

Television: I'll be finishing up Battlestar Galactica next week with a friend, so I'm super excited about that. Finally catching up on last week's shows tomorrow morning since I don't work until 4pm. House, Glee, Ringer, Colbert Report...

Projects: NEW! Completed this cross-stitch (pardon the trippy light, but that's the only picture I've taken of it so far) that's been framed for now (to keep it safe) and just needs a little ironing out before I permanently mount/frame it. The second one is more ornate and is coming along surprisingly quickly. Started drawing some more designs and am thinking about making various things for sale after this one's finished.

Right now I'm in the middle of a long-awaited organizing my room - jpgr just sent me nearly 45 Doctor Who magazines, for which I'm much obliged - and now I'm figuring out where everything should go, hah. :)

Because I'm a dork and laughed way too much at this joke, and cause education-related humor is fun. Also because this is more fun to read than a rant on how I have the dumbest class/group/presentation ever. due Friday, and I'm the only one who's done any (read: all) the work.

First off, I have a feeling this was long-awaited, so huge apologies. In the midst of RL getting rather complicated lately, my computer has gone through two personal crises (crisises?) and managed to dump all of my data down the digital toilet. Thank God for the likes of TinyPic and Photobucket.

...it appears that among other things, my computer ate the graph version of K, although it shouldn't be too tricky to make it with this picture - but I can remake the graph - as well as my L, where the only remaining copies besides the actual (as-of-yet incomplete) stitched piece are some print-outs. Thankfully, I can remake that one without too much difficulty.

I love how with some of these pictures, I clearly have the colors in mind, and then when it gets to actually making it, I'm like SCREW IT and I use a different color after all.

So this wasn't as spectacular an update as I had hoped, but I'm getting there. I've made charts for S, T, U, and W as well, in case anyone was wondering. I'm just waiting to post them in order. Suggestions are loved! I've got most of them figured out, it's just a matter of making a chart.

This took about four hours to create as an entry, thanks to all the hunting I had to do. SO worth it, even if it's nearly 2:30am now.

Decided to go back and find good moments of my past Mafia games - the one where Wash was an assassin with River and was totally leading on Simon and Zoe, the (only?) one where I was Giles, the one where Wash and Simon get drunk, the one where events were so epic that it led to a full-on crack!ship and a banner to commemorate the Wash/Simon/Illyria ship (and my headdesking a lot) or the reaaaaally early game where lias9 was assassin!Zoe and was trying to double-cross me and then things went wild.

If any of the players in my f-list have any good stories/memories, please comment!

EDIT: I've only gone through that one jjmafia game, but I believe I've covered all the ones I was in for whedonland. I'll have to go find the other mafia comms and games, if I'm even able to, like the Villains one or speed games, but if anyone who tracked entire mafia posts still have links in their notification area, that'd be awesome.

What I've found so far:

My first mafia game as Giles (I do believe it was my second or third Whedonland game)
*Unfortunately, I was killed on day one or two or something, but being a ghost was nice. Also had harbek as a great Topher, which I really miss.

One of many wlcaritas games, but memorable to me for this:
*Note: Wash is an assassin, River's an assassin, Simon's a healer, Illyria's a mason, and I remember doing my best to skip Wash around Simon during the day and be bffs while asking to keep him alive in assassin chat (because I love lias9 so dang much as Simon) - and according to some, Wash getting "jealous" of what became the Simon/Illyria ship.
Day 8: Wash and Simon go to the bar - following the death of Zoe.. and Drusilla shows up
This is just a cute drunk!Wash moment..
Day 9: Wash sees Dru
Day 10: Simon's the seer. (Again.) Wash and Simon have an adorbs moment.
Night 14: Wash dies and there's Simon/Wash insanity and tempertantrums. In-character. <3

The clubjj Mafia game of epic
* Basically, the game was dragging on so long that I felt we were all just waiting for it to be over, but didn't want to be bad sports and arbitrarily quit or declare game over. So Wash gets stressed and eventually just snaps and becomes evil. It was a lot of fun and helped lighten the mood a lot, plus it gave us something to focus on after voting.
Part 1: Wash snaps.

Part 3: surprise!Jayne and lightsabers. Also probably the only time I can use the phrase "I'm a leaf on the wind" as a threat.

The dates of this thing were June 9-13th, 2010. I had to go SO far back in the archives for this one. ..what the heck HOW was that only almost a year ago?? It feels like at least two years omg. WE'RE ABOUT TO HAVE OUR ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY DATE. I'm almost positive that this was my very first Whedonland mafia game, so it's special. Introduced me to a lot of mafia friends, and looking back I now see a lot of familiar names in the rosters. Ah, good times. <3
Oooh, and harbek as Claire?! Totally forgot about that, but re-reading it it's just as epic as I remember. I believe kasiopeia was our very fun Jayne, too. :D

okay, so the line by the time we got there was already around like two blocks and we knew we wouldn't make it into the theatre with the cast and the Q&A and everything, so we decided not to sit in line and hope for the best after all. But we were walking back to the front and taking pictures of cosplays and figurines and such, and then a big car comes up with tons of doughnuts in the trunk, and then OH HEY MAIN CAST BRINGING THEM TO US. So after the initial mob swarm, we got in and got this pic, and I touched Karen Gillan's shoulder. I think Arthur Darvill disappeared somewhere around the girl with the Roman centurion helmet and sign saying "I'd wait 2000 years for Arthur Darvill".

BUT OMG WORTH IT. And I'll get to see it in two weeks anyways!

Now I don't know what I'll do tomorrow if I still feel bad, cause browsing that tumblr was quite cheering but it's finished now. I attempted some knitting today, but had to put it down after a while. Started on a really open lacy thin scarf, sorta light pink/yellow/white, and working on a nice headband in a light blue/green color, which is coming along nicely.



And here's that leaf I made yesterday. Going to probably turn this into some kind of pin at some point, along with Five's celery, but now that I know how to make it properly, I'm going to attempt teeny ones in a lighter green and see how well they hold up for earrings when I put wiring in them.

 Man, my life is busy as heck lately.

So here's a quick update before I get my 5-6 hours of sleep. (EDIT: Quick? Lawl, took me the better part of half an hour to write all this. So I'm categorizing, cutting, and chronological-izing to save you all the trouble of trying to decipher my jumbled thoughts.
